the marketplace, 10 and 11

Chapter 10, Robert's Tale
He grew up fantasizing about being owned by a mistress. He always felt women were superior.
He married, had kids, buried his fantasies, got a successful job. But he always wanted to be owned, to serve a strong powerful woman. Successful job, played football, coached football, etc.
He found a mistress, a famous one, and began seeing her once a week. He paid her tribute. She "punished him for all the things men had done to women since the dawn of time" like rape, abuse, feeling more powerful and better because men happened to be physically stronger.
Eventually, she fucked him in the ass. He bled on the sheets at home, and because he loved his wife and she was worried (that he had hemorrhoids) he came clean and told her what had been going on.
Soon after, she divorced him. He insisted she get everything, and she made sure he couldn't have unsupervised visits with their children.
Also, he felt as if when he was humiliated and a sissy and in heels and women's clothes that he was at home, where he deserved to be, and that his other life was a lie.
After the divorce, he told his Mistress she could have more freedom over him. BUT he wasn't able to keep his job and still see her more, and he wasn't able to see her more if he quit his job, because he wouldn't be able to pay her tribute. So he asked her to make that decision for him. She said that she would only take him on as a slave and make decisions for him if he got his "nasty thing" cut off. So he pursued it. Which is where he found his current mistress, the one who brought him to the Marketplace for training.

Chapter 11

Grendel and Alexandra meet over dinner to plan and schedule what each of them will be doing to help work on training the slaves. It has been five nights since the "new training" has begun, and none of the slaves have been invited to accompany either of them for the night.

The slaves have been allowed to ask one question nightly, even though they were encouraged not to do so, as it is typically not good slave behavior to ask "why" questions.

They talk about how Robert needs something to encourage him, and how stupid Sharon is. How superficial Brian and Sharon are, and how well Claudia is shaping up, learning better to control her tears. The need to find a better way to punish Robert, since he just turns to mush and tears and responds inappropriately to punishment.

They discuss Robert's background, and skills and strengths, the possibility of him being a chauffeur. That he has balance and coordination, and is capable, just has stage fright.

Sharon is able to memorize, but she doesn't actually absorb, just memorize. She is doing well pleasing Jack, but has an issue with it because he isn't high enough on the food chain. They have plans to take her down a notch, but don't explain this chapter.

Grendel says he misses Alexandra, and she says "your dungeon or mine?"

---
The next day, Chris tells Brian to report to Grendel that night, and Robert to report to Alexandra.

Robert gives Alexandra a wonderful massage, and she is impressed, and feels like he will be able to learn professional level skills in a short time period.

Brian gets bent over a desk and told to hold that position until he is able to tell Grendel why he thinks he isn't being as impressive as they expect him to be. He holds the position until his leg cramps and drops him to the floor. He cries, not from the pain, but because he feels trapped and unable to explain why he can't meet their expectations, why he hasn't been trying his hardest to please. His words are sincere when he says he doesn't know, and Grendel sends him back to bed when he is able to walk. He feels like a failure.
