I went through and highlighted the ones that made me think of my Master. The ones I think in some way describe him.

Values in D/s (or 12 minutes that can determine how you make decisions going forward)

EXERCISE:

Identifying your TOP 10 values
Copy the words into a word doc
Go through them and BOLD or highlight things that really stand out to you as important.
After a completed first round then filter it down to 10 in no particular order.
Then carefully put them in order of importance.

FOR THE DOM
After you’ve selected your TOP 10 values check to see if you are living in accordance to these basic principles in life and in your dynamic. If you are not, there is likely stress and conflict. Just because it is a value of yours does not mean one can live by them all the time. We all fall short sometimes and the key is to recalibrate. Adjust accordingly to relieve that pressure. To do so, take steps to match your actions with your values.

FOR THE SUB
Have your sub do the same. Once you have his/her list then you can help them either keep their actions in line with their values or redirect their focus in order to make sure their actions are in harmony with their values.

FOR THE DYNAMIC
I have found that your TOP 10 will likely be different from what you VALUE for your dynamic. This phase of the exercise is done the same way except you focus on what platform you want the relationship to be based on.

FYI - This will likely take more time because with your values you are reflecting and with the dynamic you are creating.

IN CLOSING
As a Dom your values will inevitably be instilled in the dynamic and perhaps on sub after time. As a leader your values will be front and center which is why taking inventory of YOUR own values is just as important as the subs values. Match how you control the dynamic with a mix of your values while still keeping in mind theirs.

If you’re a sub show this to your dom. He will know what to do.

If you’re single and reading this do it anyway. You’ll get just as much out of it. Besides, you won’t be single for long, you sexy bastard.

EXTRA CREDIT:

After you have your top 10 and the dynamics top 10 if you want to go the extra kink mile write down what that value means to YOU and how it should play a part in your life. Why? Even the same word will have different meaning depending on the person. The values of “ Creativity ” and “ Obedience “ in a dynamic will be different for everyone.
