laurel.
As I was falling asleep the other night, I told myself if I couldn't fall asleep I would just roll another character. Another one. That I can play? And it occurred to me that I could do the same thing I do for wow and mentally assign them based on personality. So, Druid, healer, very quiet and knows things. Lauren. And it helps the naming process.
Now obviously I have to add in a lot more outgoing, more visibly confident, in attitude.
Laurel (think of a last name) the female wood elf Druid is quiet unless she thinks her opinion is needed, book knowledge is interesting, but she prefers the real thing, but likes writing down what she learns especially the unique details others might not think important.
For eighty years she has wandered and studied and hunted and gathered in the woods surrounding her tribe and home, but now she is ready to go out and explore, and feels certain she can take care of herself in any terrain she finds herself. The urge to see the rest of the world and hear the pulse of nature from another perspective is a driving force.
She has seen firsthand how overusing resources can affect the entire area, and is strongly opposed to waste. She knows how to find a meal out of what is around without taking life if game is sparse, because the next season is important too. But thinning out a herd doesn't bother her, as grazing land can become scarce as well.
Every so often, members of the tribe would go off into the woods at night, and yell and scream and turn into animals, and have a great time. It was a way of blowing off steam, and they would always be a dirty mess when they came back, tired and sore.
Maybe she thought they were cursed, and maybe it was an orgy? Or just enjoying nature as an animal. I dunno. Maybe I'll explore this a little more later.
