Chesh is here still, was planning to leave tomorrow, but they canceled their camping reservation and will stay with us another week! Which is good because R was very concerned we wouldn’t finish our D&D one shot. And he was right. We are ALMOST at the dungeon part of the one-shot now. It took a day to make our characters. A day to pick up the quest, a day to plan and shop, and I think next time we will get to the dungeon.
Tomorrow we are going to pick up ground beef and do a route on Pokémon Go, for a quest. Chesh has started playing PoGo too and is level 13 so far.
Yesterday we saw a new to the US spider called the Joro spider. It’s big and gorgeous and harmless to people and makes beautiful golden 3D webs.
I want more than anything to make R have an amazing birthday and to make him feel special and loved and pampered. I’ve honestly been so in my own head that I feel like I didn’t properly prepare for his birthday this year. I got him a D&D book, but he opened it early, and I didn’t have anything to give him to open today.
And we didn’t really get into the one-shot as far as he wanted, so I am a little sad on his behalf.
He keeps telling me not to worry about it and that he’s happy. It’s very hard to trust that when my own head is telling me I should do more- because he deserves the best and I want to give him the best.
